Here's what you need to know to ship orders to Japan:
HOW TO ORDER
To ship items to Japan, simply choose "Japan" from the drop-down menu on the "Ship to" section of the checkout page.

We accept payment by the following credit cards only: JCB, American Express, Visa, Discover, Mastercard. Orders are subject to verification and acceptance before shipping. Credit cards will be charged when the items are shipped. After the order is received, shipments take 5 to 10 business days to arrive. All shipments to Japan are processed via Yamato Transport. We are not responsible for typographical errors.
DUTIES & TAXES
All duties and taxes incurred are the responsibility of the customer and are payable upon receipt of the goods from Yamato. The following table is a guideline of duties. A refund will be issued to your credit card after we receive the garment in the United States. The process can take up to three to four weeks.
Complete exchange slip (also included in your shipment), and send slip and item(s) to above address.
Madewell gladly honors price adjustments on full-price merchandise within 7 days of the mail-order ship date, when accompanied by the original retail receipt or mail-order packing slip. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or fax your request, including order number or name and address, to
844 657 4635. Items not purchased at full price are ineligible for price adjustments.
In order to receive a refund on the duties paid for an item returned, please note that the following process must be observed according to Japanese Customs Law. You must request documentation from Yamato regarding the duty paid and bring goods and paperwork to a post office that handles Customs duty refunds to apply for your refund there. For exchanges, the above process must be followed to receive a duty refund on the item exchanged, and Japanese Customs will collect duty on the new item.
