Gingham Shirred Skirt

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Super cute I'm just under 5'4" and this skirt hits my waist (p.s. I'm long waisted) and a little above my knees. It has pockets!!! The gingham print is adorable. My one complaint is that the lining is polyester even though the main fabric is cotton. Feel like it makes it less comfortable and cheapens it up a bit. But overall, love it. May 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Gingham Style! I've had my eye on this fun skirt ever since I spotted it on "Gal Meets Glam" and "Little Dash of Darling" blogs. When it went on clearance and there was an additional percentage off, I decided to take the plunge and order it. I'm not familiar with Madewell's sizing so I went with my standard size 4. When I finally received it, I was pleased. This hit me at the most flattering spot on the waist and the length is ideal on my 5'3" frame. It's just a few inches above my knees so it's not so short I can't wear it to work with heels but it's not so long I can't wear it on the weekends with flat sandals or Converse for a casual look. I was a little concerned that this would be too poofy on me but it wasn't at all. It has just enough flare to be flattering but doesn't add any visual weight. The material used is great quality and lightweight enough for when it warms up. I love that this has pockets as well! Definitely recommend if you're looking for a versatile skirt for spring! Rated 5 out of 5 by Can't wait untl warmer weather! I have a thing for full skirts, so I had to try this on... and eventually buy it. The material is lightweight but slightly stiff cotton twill (the weave looks like a loser weave). So the texture of the fabric isn't sumptuous, but the stiffness helps the skirt retain its fullness. There are pockets, as well, although the pleats can make them a little difficult to find. Since the skirt is meant to be worn at the waist, the small waistline can accommodate a belt. For reference, my typical size for skirts is an XS (0-2), and I purchased this in a 0. My natural waist is about 26"-27" and my hips are about 35"-36". I purchased another Madewell skirt in a size 2, and it's a little loose and sits slightly below the waist (so if you like a bit more room at your waistline, you might want to consider than when selecting your size). I am also about 5' 6 3/4" tall with long legs, and the skirt falls about 5 inches above my knee. March 7, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Bought the wrong size, still kept it! I saw this on the sale rack in the store and knew I had to buy it! I'm usually a size 0 but they only had a 2. I tried it on and while it was a little loose in the waist, it was still wearable so I snagged it since it was such a great price! The fit is somewhat poofy and really flattering to your waist, especially if you have a more pear-shaped frame like me. However, I was disappointed to see there's a few tiny holes in the front of the skirt, the kind that look like they were made from something the size of a thumbtack. It's not noticeable, though, so I honestly don't mind. I'm thinking of getting it taken in at the waist, but other than that, it's great! June 16, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by good, not great It fits true to size and is really comfortable but there's just way too much material. It would have been really cute otherwise. March 13, 2014
