Cute bag for Spring/Summer or anytime really!
I purchased this backpack in the Acorn color. It's a perfect sized bag for everyday use. Not bulky. I use it as a purse and love being hands free. The canvas feels sturdy and the leather straps are comfortable on the shoulders. Wish it was waxed canvas!

Keeps me organized
I love this minimalist backpack by Madewell. It helps me keep my bag lite and organized with all the things I NEED to keep on me. I also love the fact that I can carry a book in it as well as my favorite coffee hydroflask.

Intro to backpack ...
Been searching high and low... tried both sizes leather backpacks at MW and couldn’t find right size / color combo. This fit the bill for my into to Backpack purse hype. The orangey rust color is beautiful. Won’t show dirt or stains as much as the canvas color or olive. (The olive is lighter in person ). Straps adjustable size perfect!!!!!

Cute and functional
I like this backpack way more than I had anticipated! The canvas seems like it’s really durable and will withstand the repetitive motion due to the pulling on the drawstrings to open and close the bag.
I choose the “acorn” color and it is a touch lighter than the picture shows; It is more brown than mustard or yellow.
The leather on the bag is sturdy but not stiff like other leather bags from Madewell, they are thick and well stiched so I’m confident that they won’t pull out of the bag even if the bag is stuffed. They are also adjustable which is nice because you can tightened and loosen them when needed.
This backpack is just a little smaller than the Medium Transport Tote but still holds a good amount.
If you are looking for something that will allow you to be hands free but not look like you are rushing to a high school English class this is for you. It’s really cute and well constructed.

Really love this backpack, very comfortable straps. I only took off one star because it does not close super tight and living in the city I have to think about people with sticky hands.

Not their best
I have quite a few of the canvas bag idea, so I was excited to see they made it into a backpack. When I got it, the material was a little too stiff to be easily open and closed and the size seemed smaller than the picture.
