The Perfect Vintage Jean

The Perfect Vintage Jean is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 76.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Casual and great fit I'm 5'4 and I wear a size 25. These jeans are fitted around the waist and thighs, but are loose from the knee down. I have to roll them up twice in order for the relaxed fit style to show through, but I think it looks great! The wash is a really classic denim blue, and I find myself always choosing these over any of my skinny jeans.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits just right for me I've read the reviews before buying and decided to take a chance and monogrammed it too so no returnable obviously. Surprisingly fit is very good. I'm 5'4'' 117 lbs. slender/straight boyish shape. No gaping at the waist and since I have no butt the hip area is comfortable as well. Hits at a good spot on my ankle too. Overall in glad I took a chance. Plus the monogram is free. Yay

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great nonstretch denim, don't love the fading I disagree about sizing up, I'm a 27 in Madewell's stretchy jeans (though could probably fit a 26) and I first ordered a 28 in these and they were way too big, they looked sloppy and the legs were really big. I reordered and got a 27 and then shrunk them in the wash, now they're tight but look much better. I also cut off the hem at the bottom and frayed the ends and they look a lot more modern and less early 2001s (originally these looked a little boot cut with sneakers, much cuter with mules or clogs unless you're very tall, but I'm 5'4"). A smaller size and with cut hems look much better! I like them as much as my Levi's 501s! I don't love the fading over the knees, I think these would look better as a pure blue, but overall they are really flattering and great denim.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why the fuss? These are awesome..... Hey, get your true size, man.....these are a really cool take on vintage, nice high waist, 100% cotton, great quality denim. I own what is verging on an embarrassing number of madewell jeans...always a 26 (5'4, 120-125lb) and these are no like a glove. CAN YOU BELIEVE THE PRICE!!!!???this is like winning the lottery!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Slim Hip I have an apple-shaped body type, so jeans are especially a nightmare. These jeans have absolutely no stretch so I crossed my fingers and ordered a 32 and they fit like a dream. Usually a 32 would fit at the waist and I would have major hip/rump sag- surprisingly not here. I don't see how this style would accommodate a body with a small waist and large hip with out a waist gap. Overall they have to be the best jeans I've EVER owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! I'm surprised these aren't getting the love they deserve. I bought these because I fell in love with my sister's perfect summer jeans and wasn't able to find them in my size, I got these instead. I am between a 25-26 and got these in a 26, they do give a bit and am now wondering whether I should have gotten them in a 25 instead. I'm not a fan of the rips on the thigh, but these jeans look so flattering that I'm going to let that go. These do make my butt look bigger, which is a good thing for me, but maybe not the perfect fit for a big bummed girl.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE I've been looking for a jean like this for so long. I'm absolutely in love with these. They're high waisted and flattering without being tight in the thighs. I wear a 23-24 and I went with the 24 in these. I only wish they made these without the distressing / holes. I hope they make these in more colors and a full length (these are slightly cropped). Goodbye skinny jeans forever!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great if you can find your size I love the IDEA of a vintage 100% cotton jean. Unfortunately my body is just not made for them. They are great for an hourglass figure(small waist and larger hips/rear. I am the opposite, with small waist and rear, and bigger waist(basically straight up and down, not a majorly defined waist.) I am typically a 28 in most premium jeans, and size up to a 29 in the high waist versions, which I needed to do with these. If I wear with clogs or something with a slight heel, these look great on me, even though a little baggy in the thigh and hips, but gall darn it, they are just such a great material and the wash is great. They don't have any give, so I don't like that they are sorta tight at my waist(sizing up would make them HUGE everywhere else)But truly, for the AMAZIng price, even if you buy and wear once or twice and use them for painting jeans or weeding jeans, they are well worth it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The style and quality of these jeans are on point I should start off by mentioning that I'm mid 20s, 5'7 and about 160lbs, size 10-12 depending on brand, ordered size 32. These jeans were my first purchase from madewell and I couldn't be happier. The quality of this denim is hard to come by these days. It feels very durable but not stiff. It's the kind of denim that will give you the chance to rough up and break in with wear. After putting on the jeans I feel like the style is like a straight leg boyfriend type. Way better though. They are not low cut like a lot of boyfriend jeans I've tried in the past. These rest just below my belly button. Nice high waist! From reading the other reviews I do agree that the thighs are snug but every where else fits fine, I didn't have a problem with a waist gap in the back, and I will mention that they did loosen up as the day went on. Not too loose that I was pulling them up every second but just enough that it felt more comfortable, breathable. Wouldn't pass them up! Hope this helps!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very high waisted It's a good length and looseness overall (it may seem too loose on the bottom at the beginning, after all this years of skinny jeans trend), and it's really high waisted, an inch too high for my liking (it sits one inch higher than my belly button).
