Rated 5 out of 5 by Best pants! I live for these pants! So much that I tried getting the other color. I hope Madewell brings them back. So flattering and overall awesome. My favorite. November 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by LOVE Love these pants!!! Yes, they are very very long. At 5'5", I am used to having my pants hemmed and these were no different. Once tailored, these pants look exactly as they do in the photo. I haven't had an issue with deep wrinkling as stated in another review... maybe the fabric varies with the color (I purchased navy)? Rated 5 out of 5 by Holy flattering trousers, Batman! High waist does everything for a little extra tummy. These are quite long even for me, I'm 5'9. But now I have legs for days and the appearance of a flat tummy. Bravo! Now, about these prices ... August 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very flattering & comfortable. What a great pair of pants-I have the navy & can't wait to wear them. They are a bit long (would love it if all pants came in lengths for us vertically challenged people!) They have a lovely flow & line to them-very flattering. August 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Beautiful fall trousers Given the high waisted cut, I was skeptical about fit. However, the waist is perfect, the way the pants fall is beautiful, and the color is spot on for fall. I love both the fabric and the weight as well. August 18, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great but very very very long pants I'm usually an XS/S, a 0-4 or a 26/27 in Madewell things and I got these in a 2 and they fit quite snug at my natural waist. But I would definitely make sure that you know you will have to get these tailored unless you're a model. I'm 5'5, and I put on 4 inch heels and they still dragged on the ground. Luckily I know how to sew and will be able to tailor them for free. But really fun, totally 70s (I got these after watching Annie Hall). Nice weight of fabric, etc... If you're on the fence, maybe wait til they go on sale then they'll definitely be worth it. August 30, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Huge, long but wish they would have worked These pants were so huge I could have pulled them on without unbuttoning. I consistently wear a 2 in JCrew pants (for reference); I ordered these in a 0 because of the loose leg (my athletic thighs dictate my pant size); and even alterations could not save these for me. I'm sad, too, because I love the style. Even a 00 wouldn't work. Like other reviewers, these were also very very long for my 5'4" body. Sigh. Returning them. Fabric is lovely and the deep blue is gorgeous---not so dark it reads as black but not so light that it stops being a great neutral. October 7, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Mixed bag: great color, poor cut. While the burgundy color is just right, the fabric quality and cut are not good. Waist is comically high, with a kind of baggy, slouchy cut in the hip. Combine that with the floor-dragging inseam and you have an uncomfortable pair of paints you could never wear with sneakers, as the model is doing, unless you want to ruin them. September 5, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by High Maintenance Fabric Objectively applicable criticisms: The fabric a) feels like cheap linen b) is not breathable c) wrinkles easily and d) will not hold a good morning iron - maybe a little with spray starch Subjective criticisms: a) these pants are way too long for me because i am not that tall. I'm 5'4" (petit violin) and even in 4" heels these were like a JNCO 90s throwback where i found myself having to walk carefully lest I trip and fall. for the young, i looked like a had a parachute caught in my legs, and it felt like it, too. b) i have a pear shape. meaning hips. this cut is much better suited for a no-hip shape. c) PERSONAL PET PEEVE: HIGH MAINTENANCE CLOTHING: i had a sea of wrinkles across my hips/abs area. the kind that are so deeply committed to their imprint that they retain accordion-like strength. i'm not sure what spray starch will do, but if anything short of formal attire needs that much of my attention, i have to break up with it. sorry, Madewell! had to return this time.
