The quality is great - very sturdy. I've worn it so many times since purchasing it and have received many compliments! Overall it is very comfortable and easy to walk in, after a while of wearing them you will feel the knots on the top of your foot, but it's more of a light pressure than a pain - definitely not something you'll have to take off because they're killing your feet, and they didn't take any breaking in which is rare for a shoe this style.

This shoe quality is great! I have not been disappointed by any of my Madewell shoe purchases and this one is no exception. Yes, they are a little stiff on the heel only, but after a couple weeks of wear, mine are broken in just fine. Beautiful shoe, once again Madewell!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jeansandtee Great shoe. Leather softens with wear
This shoe is beautiful. Yes, it was stiff and rubbed a bit the first few wears, but after a week, the leather softens and it's an easy, comfortable summer sandal. I've gotten lots of compliments. I love it so much I might even get the Nubuk color.

Rated 4 out of 5 by EMS325 Super cute and worth the blisters
I ordered these when they went on sale, after having tried on in store. I'm usually an 8-8.5 but had to order a 9 in these because the front piece was a bit narrow for my foot. They fit great, except that the little hidden elastic strip in the heel portion (you can see it as the white strip in the angled photo) tends to rub on my heels and has cause a few blisters. They're so cute that I'm not giving up on them though! I'll wear them in a bit more and with a few band-aids, they are super comfy as of now. They go perfectly with everything and the color and quality is excellent.

Rated 4 out of 5 by kayhay627 Very cute but slow to break in
This is a tough shoe to break in but I'm hoping it's worth the effort because they are very cute and go well with everything! I'm usually closer to a size 8, but the 7.5 fit better in the store. In hindsight, I probably should have stuck with the larger size (despite my narrow feet) because of how long it's taken to break these guys in. If you're willing to wait for a gradual breaking in, then this is a good shoe for you!

Rated 4 out of 5 by juliavocado cute summer sandal/flats
its true. they do hurt when you first get them because of the back but they are beautifully made and once you break into them, they are very comfortable! i love them because they don't look exactly like flats but they are not exactly sandals either. however, they do go well with everything and are perfect for summer. It took about a week for me to break into them and after i almost wear them everyday!

Rated 4 out of 5 by LRCSOUTHBAY SUPER CUTE SUMMER SANDAL
This shoe isn't as comfortable as the regular Thea sandal due to the "knotted leather'" style but on the upside, I wouldn't say that it's UNcomfortable, either. They are so cute and feminine on that I'm hoping they will break in a little. I wore them for the first time today for 3 hours walking and had no problems with my feet as previous reviewers stated. I wanted to wait for a sale but my size has been on back order so when I saw them at my local store, I snatched 'em. These are keepers!

Rated 4 out of 5 by cals ...still breaking them in...
The quality and craftsmanship are flawless. Color looks great with tanned legs. However, these need breaking in. I've had them for a week and a half and they still have some breaking in to do. Backs have roughed up my heels. My big toe actually hurts from the leather straps, and I have small, dainty 5.5 feet. I'd suggest sizing up half a size.
