Rated 5 out of 5 by from love this top, compliments already The sales clerk pointed out how to wear the tie - on the inside, the belt goes behind your back, the pulled out through the front and tied. No skin showing with me when tied this way, and that's how the model wears it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful top. I think this top is really beautiful and I love the design. Madewell's clothes are special! I am 5'7 about 120 lbs with a medium build and after trying on both a small and medium, I stuck with the small--but both fit fine. I know the shirt is supposed to be tied in the front but I actually prefer to tie it in the back and have my front be loose (the front tie lays against my stomach under the shirt). It's really versatile; have fun with it! It's comfortable and not scratchy. Also, I personally didn't have any problems with the tie holes being too big or showing skin in the front as some reviewers mentioned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super comfortable and nice top Love this top- it is so comfortable, and definitely works in the office (mine is more casual), and on the weekends. Definitely make sure to loop the belt around the back, so you don't have the gaps in the holes that others have written about. The fabric is thick and breathable, and will be a staple in my closet through the spring, and with shorts in the summer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Short in the Torso Loved this shirt. The quality is great, the design is perfect and I found you could tie the top in he front or back BUT I had to return the top because it ran too short.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect seasonal transition top but... This top immediately caught my eye online so I knew I had to buy it. It fits true to size and I love how it gives you a more of a waist than most boxy sweaters. It can be worn with jeans or a pencil skirt for work. The length is a bit shorter (depending on the size you get) so a high waisted bottom is that I prefer. However, as the other reviews mentioned, when tying the waist, the holes completely expose your skin. I think an easy solution for that to be wear a thin tank underneath or a white collard shirt. I'll definitely be keeping it though!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from If you don't mind exposing skin... I read all the reviews before taking a look at this top. It is a nice top, on trend but all the reviews are correct. It does expose stomach when the belt is tied in the front. However Madewell's feedback to some of the reviews states that the belt is supposed to be tied at the back. So why do they feature a model with the belt tied in the front? C'mon Madewell! The belt is more attractive tied in the front (it looks too much like an 1980's apron dress tied at the back) and when you show it like that, you don't think customers are going to wear it like that? Ok, done with my rant. Sigh.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mixed Feelings When I tried this top on a couple months back, I loved it! I was hoping that one day it would go on sale and it did. Got it, but now I'm not sure about the fit. Maybe I tried on a different size, but it seems bigger now. I still will wear it. The material is thick, which I like. And who can resist the classic print!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cute blouse but poorly designed I just purchased this blouse on Friday-- it immediately caught my eye as a great, classic and versatile blouse. I tried it on at home though and was so disappointed to find that it totally exposes skin where the holes are for the belt/ties. There's a good inch or two that gapes and shows skin when you tie the blouse in the front as shown in the photo, however loose or tight you do it (the blouse is true to size otherwise so not a fit issue, just the design of the belt holes). So disappointing! Debating getting a tailor to fix it because otherwise it's a great top, but might have to take it back :(
