Simple, and perfect throw on.
Great everyday dress. Feels like a very comfortable t-shirt material that is not sheer. Easily dresses up or down especially because of the color. I would say it is "true to size" considering the style of the dress. IF you prefer a tighter look and you are in-between sizes size down. There is give in this dress without being another spandex looking tank dress. MAKE MORE COLORS ILL BUY THEM.

I love this dress
I tried this dress on in store and the fit was great! This dress is so comfortable and falls so nicely. It's not too tight and not too loose. I'm a petite gal, 5'0" 105 lbs and the xxs was a great fit. The length was good for me too, about mid calf. I love it!

Hangs very well
The cut, color and fabric are all great. It hangs well and is not bod-con, just jersey loose hang in the right places. I am usually picky about synthetic fabric (anything not cotton) and this is just as soft. I wore it with a cropped denim jacket and Birks and it looked super cute!

It fits perfectly, doesn't cling, is super flattering. I keep on coming back to the website with my fingers crossed that they have new colors! PLEASE keep this dress from season to season, and add more colors! It is a staple!

MVP dress!
This dress is awesome! It's very well made- the fabric is a thick jersey knit that still feels breathable but also gives ample coverage so you won't be showing off your under garments. It hugs all my curves (let's call a spade a spade-- makes my boobs and butt look great!), but it also gives a little room in the torso which keeps it casual and comfy.
Im 125lbs, 5' 3", 36C and the x-small fits perfectly. I'm usually a small or medium in most demensions so sizing does seem off. The length is great- falls at my mid-part of my shins.
Wonderful piece to dress up with heels or casual style with sandals.
Current fav look is with my dark cropped jean jacket, black ankle booties, and a long necklace.

Great dress
I bought this dress a little late in the season, but it's a great quality tank dress. Colors is a little more towards gray than the picture, which I love, and it's thick enough and not at all see through. I'm 5'8" 135 lb and the extra small hits right below the knee. Overall it fits great.

Must have dress
I NEVER leave a review, but felt compelled after I received this dress. It's truly the perfect simple black tank dress, the fabric is substantial, it doesn't clink to you, the side slits give a flirty feel when walking, right amount of coverage and can be worn day to night. Flats to heels this is a must have. I would have loved if it was on sale, however, it's worth the money. Only call out would be to continue this item each season and add some additional colors, a great grey and latte would be amazing! Well done Madewell!

More colors please!
I love love this dress. I find that most dresses in this style tend to be super tight and fitted, but this dress is on the "looser" side without looking baggy. It hangs just perfectly and is super stylish/comfortable. I'm 5'4'' 118lbs and went with the XS. I wish I had ordered the XXS for comparison, it may have worked slightly better for me. Nevertheless, I LOVE it and wish that Madewell would make more colors!

Great maternity dress!
I'm 6 months pregnant and have been living in this dress this summer. I'm usually an extra small or a small. I got this dress in a small and it has more room so hopefully can take me through the next few months. Super comfortable and easy to wash. Highly recommend!

Perfect casual summer dress
I love this dress. I bought it in blue then went back and bought it in black. It's so comfortable - feels like a nightgown - but is super cute. It clings just enough to not look frumpy and the length feels stylish. I can't recommend this enough!
