Gorgeous & Comfortable
I was so surprised by this shirt! I am neither a fan of the current bell sleeve trend nor button-downs; but the soft feel of the fabric (almost like a thin wool) and simple but sophisticated print convinced me to try it on. It was a must-buy! I'm 5'1", 130lb, 34D, almost always an XS at Madewell, but I always go up a size when trying on a button-down due to bust size. Despite short arms, the sleeves are the perfect length (rather on me, a little long, hangs to maybe my ring, but I prefer it and with the flowy sleeve, it makes sense), and the length of the shirt is fabulous - I can wear it comfortably with jeans, or tucked in to a skirt (it's a little on the shorter side for tucking, but worked fine). Unlike reviewers below, this shirt does not pull at all. I have avoided button-downs for most of my life, and several others I've tried at Madewell have pulled so that I need to unbutton + tank, but this isn't at all a concern with this shirt. Perfect for professional wear, or casual.

Great for small busted gals
After reading the other reviews I went into
The store to try it on. I can easily wear an xxs in most madewell tops, but I went with the xs in this one. I'm 5'3 and weigh 108 with a 34a bra size. The length is perfect for a small tuck without being overwhelming at all. The fabric is flannel so it feels like pajamas. I'm a mother of two young boys so I only buy tops that are very comfortable and easy to wear.

Super soft fabric
the fabric on the shirt is extremely soft, and I am usually a size medium in Madewell and bought a medium which fit me perfectly. Unlike others I did not have the button issue (although I don't button the top two by choice) and I have a pretty sizable chest (34F). For whatever reason, I actually felt this fit me less tight and more boxy than on the model (but wouldn't size down), and the reason for the four starts is that I think it doesn't really look like the way it does on the model.

should be able to get store credit on final sale
My granddaughter bought this shirt and liked it enough to buy for myself; runs small and final sale item; should be able to get a store credit; won’t do that again! I do business at Nordstrom; no such thing as no returns. Terrible policy!

Bad Button Placement
I love everything about this shirt - beautiful drape, nice pattern, bell sleeves and versatile. But, I have to send it back. The buttons must be placed differently than other button-ups or it's the style but it pulls very badly on me. My normal medium fit me well everywhere except the chest (5'8", 145# and 34B). Even with my arms down the chest buttons were pulling so much so that skin and bra were showing. Thought ordering a large would help but it didn't - still pulling enough that I'd have to wear a cami under it and leave the top three to four buttons undone. Pretty much limits the versatility then, especially for the price. On the right person, this will be flattering.

Lovely but tight in chest
Tried this on and fell in love with the super soft flannel material in a dress-up silhouette. However as others noted the buttons gape on the chest. I'm only a 32C and even with a size up the buttons were pulling/gaping even with my arms down. Hate that, especially since I tend to wear crossbody bags a lot. If only the button placement were a bit different - bummer!

Ugh. i'm so sad about this one. It's so perfect in almost every way... except the same as the other review. It pulls sooo badly. I'm 5'8 130lbs and a 34B or 32C. The fabric, style, pattern is amazing. Bummed about the pulling :(

Runs small and short..and can’t return!!! Wouldn’t recommend purchasing final sale items.
