Beautifully Crafted, However Narrow
Lots of good things to say - these have been made with a lot of care, they can withstand moderate rain, and the dark chestnut color is rich. Just note, their V-shaped front may not be comfortable for people with wide feet. So, take care to walk around on a clean, smooth indoor surface, as they suggest, before committing to them.

Love these!
I wore those shoes for the first time today and I love them! They are super cute and very well made. I did have to size down a half size (I’m usually a solid 10), which is a little snug, but after a day or two of break-in I think they’ll be perfect. I was on the fence for quite a while on buying these, but I’m super happy I finally did. Definitely recommend!

Excellent purchase...as in...
...Bill &Teds Excellent Adventure or Molly Ringwalds taste in clothes! Love the style and quality...I wore similar loafers in the 80’s along with the first wave of high waisted jeans, jean jackets, and the transition from punk to prep. These are beautiful and make me feel like I’ve stepped back a few decades when life was simple, and traditional style and quality was the norm.

3 Weeks in, Still Comfortable
It can be difficult to deduce from the photos (seriously, Madewell please put more than three photos of items =)) but the toe of this loafer is almond.
PROS:
- Pretty comfortable right out of the box.
- relatively short break-in time as the leather is soft and the sole is flexible, molding to the foot.
- back of the loafer doesn't rub against the tendon and cause blisters
- Loafers don't make that loud, annoying "clack" sound when you walk. They do have a muted sound when you place the heel down, but it doesn't make people glance at your shoes as you walk by.
- Good arch support (flat feet).
CONS:
- leather scratches easily, but the shoes have a more worn-in look still put together and classy.
- Soles made a "farting" sound the first week but go away with constant wear and time. Socks also helped.
- When wearing socks, the insides tend to be slippery making it harder to walk.

Grandpa/Prep School chic
If you're like me and aspire to dress like a boarding school grandpa, these shoes are for you. Really solidly made, really cute. Since they're made for women, they're not super clunky or dowdy like when you buy mens loafers in your size. They just the right amount of slouchy look without being sloppy. They'll age BEAUTIFULLY. Like a grandpa.
Forget 'borrowed from the boys.' 2018 is all about 'borrowed from grandpa.'

Great Closet Staple
I originally bought these shoes in a 7.5, but they were a bit snug. I exchanged them for an 8 and they fit like a glove. If you're between sizes, I would recommend going up a half size.
These shoes have been a great addition to my wardrobe. I wear them several times a week. They broke in right away and I've never had any issues with rubbing or blisters. Would definitely recommend!

Comfortable right away
I really love these shoes. Comfortable immediately, no breaking in. Very nice quality too, which I unfortunately can't say about all Madewell products. But these are great. Some people had sizing issues but I wear 9 1/2 and found these true to size. Would order again!

Classic in style, and become ever more comfortable with each wearing. I found them stiff the first few wearings, but thick leather stiff...not cheap, blister making stiff.
