Not flattering
I have two other high rise style denim shorts that I bought from Madewell this season that I love, but this style went back. The fabric is stiff and not forgiving and if you have curves/hips and anything other than washboard abs, these make your stomach look like it's sticking out. The sides stuck out awkwardly too where the slits are on the side of the hem. I'm all for the high rise and mom jean look, but these weren't flattering...I bought these in size 25, 26, 27 and none worked. For reference I'm 5', 105 lbs, and curvy.
