Cutest Pair of Shorts
The fit is fantastic. I love that the back is cut conservatively so you're not flashing the world. The high waist and the flower embroidery are also both super cute. My ride or die pair of denim shorts at the moment.

Fun print, but SIZE DOWN!
I was a little unsure about buying these shorts given the reviews, but when I saw the sale price (and that it wasn't final sale), I decided to try them out. I'm very happy I did! The print is fun and bright and looks great against the lighter wash of the denim. They sit high on the waist, but they are (thankfully) not super short. I felt comfortable walking and sitting in them, which can be a difficult combo to find for shorts, especially since I'm an average body weight. MOST DEFINITELY SIZE DOWN THOUGH - I am 5'7", 155 lbs, and in jeans, I am an 8/29. However, in shorts, I normally size up to a 30 because I don't like shorts tight at the thighs. For these, I stayed with my normal 29, and while they were slightly big in the waist still, the rest fit like a dream. While the sizing is off, I would still recommend these shorts! If you can, try on in store or order multiple sizes to decide what fit you like best.

Comfy and Cute
I'm glad I tried these on in store because I fit in the 28 when I thought I would be a 29 based on my measurements. I recommend going down a size as they run a little loose and also have a bit of stretch to them. The embroidery is colorful and trendy but at the same time I feel like it's subtle enough to be worn with a variety of tops.

cute shorts
These are such cute shorts! I bought them after falling in love with the Perfect Shorts in the Langdon wash. My only trouble is that I based my sizing in these off of those, which ran large. These fit a little tighter and closer to true size. However, still totally wear able. They handle the perfect amount of embroidery to be on trend, but it doesn't take it overboard. Love them.

Not so "perfect" after all.
I wanted to love these shorts!!! I REALLY wanted to love these shorts, and almost tricked myself into keeping them because the embroidery is so beautiful; however, the fit was just terrible. I am 5'2, and they were a higher waist, but something was just so off with the proportions creating some serious drop crotch. I even tried to size down, and they still didn't work for me. So sad! I recommend buying these for the embroidery, but only if they fit... and maybe Madewell can embroider a pair of their other shorts, like the high rise boyshort, for people like me who just can't swing the "perfect" jean short.

Disappointed
I wanted to love these shorts. I had the perfect jean shorts in another style and these fit the same way, so I bought them even though they were final sale. The embroidery that goes over the back pocket sews the pocket shut, though. I have absolutely no use for jeans or shorts without functional pocket, so I'm really upset about the purchase and would not recommend the shorts to anyone unless they don't care about pockets.

TOO BIG
The jeans itself is cute but it runs way toooooo large.
I am usually a US size 6 = size 28 in jeans that 28 is the size I ordered but it fits more like a 10 or 12.
I understand final sale normally could not be returned by the off in size just really frustrates me that I don't know what to do with it.

Way too big
These shorts were so cute and I couldn't wait to get them in the mail! When I tried them on they were HUGE. I am usually a size 25 but I ordered a 24 so that when they stretch out they will be perfect and form fitting. However, they were huge and looked terrible. I wanted them to fit and look cute SO BAD! Still love madewell and will always shop here but this was disappointing.
