EASY EVERYDAY RITUALS FROM JENN TARDIF OF 3RD RITUAL

BEGIN YOUR DAY BY MAKING THE BED
We know, your first thought once you open your eyes might be about a hot cup of coffee, but Jenn encourages taking a beat and thinking of your future self. Won’t you be pleased to come back to a smooth, neat sanctuary at the end of the day? A two-minute time commitment can make all the difference.
TAKE A WALK OUTSIDE
Jenn recommends walking slowly and using all your senses while you do it as a natural stress reliever and reprieve from extra time spent indoors. Noting what you see, smell, hear, taste and touch helps give the brain a break. Bonus points if you leave your phone behind.
WRITE IN A JOURNAL
De-clutter your space, set a timer (maybe start small at just five or 10 minutes), then simply write whatever comes to mind. Feel stuck? Jenn suggests using prompts to guide you, like:What are you most grateful for? What do you know now that you didn’t a year ago? What do you need more or less of? Putting pen to paper can help make sense of mental chatter.
SLATHER ON SOME LOTION
But take your time when you do it. Use it as an opportunity to massage your hands, or even try palm inhalation, which is as simple as it sounds: apply a favorite lotion or oil, cup your palms in front of your face and breathe, breathe, breathe. Ahhh, we feel calmer already.
